In this article, we will dive into transferring your funds from Coinbase to one of their key competitors in the space, Robinhood.
Preparing to accept crypto on Robinhood
First, let’s see which coins we can deposit to Robinhood.
At the time of writing, Robinhood accepts the following coins deposits:
- Bitcoin
- Bitcoin Cash
- Bitcoin SV
- Dogecoin
- Ethereum
- Ethereum Classic
- Litecoin
- Solana
You can check up-to-date information on their website.
Make sure you will be transferring only those coins. Because if you’ll send any other unsupported coins they will be lost (similar to most crypto transactions).
By the way, Robinhood doesn’t charge any fees for receiving crypto funds. But you will be charged some sending fees by Coinbase.
That said, if you have different coins in your CoinBase account, you’ll have to convert them to any supported coins. Another option may be to convert it to cash and withdraw it to a bank and then deposit it to Robinhood.
To receive funds on Robinhood:
- Navigate to cryptocurrency’s details page
- Click “Receive”
- Copy your wallet address
Sending crypto from Coinbase
To send funds from Coinbase:
- Open your wallet
- Click the “Send” button
- Select a coin
- Enter an amount
- Enter a wallet address we received from Robinhood
Notes
- Be careful with converting coins to other coins just for transferring purposes. Basically, make sure that nothing crazy happens with them at the moment of purchase.
- Coinbase has fees “collected upon withdrawal” for non-ERC-20 assets like BTC, DOGE, etc, so be ready to pay it while transferring those coins to Robinhood.
That’s it!
I hope this article makes transferring your crypto funds from Coinbase to Robinhood pretty straightforward.
